Weekly Backflushing

1. Remove the filter basket from the portafilter and insert a blind filter basket.
2. Add a small amount of espresso machine detergent to the blind filter.
3. Lock the portafilter into the group head.
4. Run the brew cycle for 10 seconds, then pause for 10 seconds. Repeat this 5 times.
5. Remove the portafilter, rinse the blind basket, and repeat the brew cycle steps 5 more times with plain water to thoroughly rinse.

Monthly Descaling

2. Run about half of the solution through the steam wand into a pitcher.
3. Run the remaining solution through the group head.
4. Rinse the reservoir thoroughly and refill with fresh water.
5. Run several full tanks of fresh water through both the steam wand and group head to rinse completely.
